While BSN programs typically last about 4 years for a new student, there's a wide variety of paths to choose from for those with previous training. A licensed practical nurse (LPN) can enroll in a special, accelerated LPN to RN program to cut down on study time. One with an associate degree in nursing (ADN) or a bachelor's degree in another field can also enter an accelerated program.
