Registered nurse cares for critically ill children ages 1-18 years. Requirements include excellent age appropriate assessment skills, ability to apply critical thinking skills in the care of the PICU patient, and ability to communicate with family members and members of the healthcare team. RN working in the PICU setting must have familiarity with hemodynamic monitoring and other critical care technology. Pediatric Advanced Life Support, (PALS), is required in most settings. Registered nurse must have a minimum of one year recent hospital experience. Salary varies depending upon location. Many completion bonuses available.
