I remember buying this in 87. Loved it, still do. If you think this is bad, you cannot like the later FNM either. It's already pretty much the same 'sound' as on Midlife Crisis, for instance.

The person who did the growls in I am Legend was Mike Patton, the replacement singer for Chuck Mosely (the singer here), and let me tell you, Mike did this song the way it was supposed to be done.

Those who are old enough to remember know that this is the band that inspired Korn and various other musicians. This band was way before its time and remains one of the coolests bands. Mosley was part of a killer album Introduce Yourself. Patton joined and well then they became legendary!
