roy orbisons voice is so different from everyone elses, but they way it harmonies into the rest is perfect. if he didnt die this group would have been much bigger and lasted longer

A supergroup is basically a very popular band. But it is only a supergroup if it is famous and sucseful at the time they are active. For example, this band was very succesful when it was active, so it's a supergroup. The jimi hendrix experience was actually much more famous after jimi died than before, so it's not a supergroup. People still knew about him at the time, but it's not like they were putting up #1s on the charts.
